Music and Music Podcast Recordings
I grew up surrounded by musical instruments. My father played many types of string instruments, including some less common ones. From the violin to the mandolin, guitar to the banjo. Whenever I was at his house, he let me play freely with some of the less fragile instruments, so I experimented with many sounds in my formative years. Although I did not read music, I could find notes on the strings and try to recreate my favorite sounds through play. As a young adult, I found a music teacher who taught me about rhythm and pacing. Although I never pursued music as a career, I still find joy in the process of picking up a well-tuned guitar or ukulele, finding the notes for a favorite song, and then riffing on the sounds until I have something different and interesting. If you enjoy play and experimentation as well, I hope you will join me and share links to your own play session videos in the comments.
